Once you open the bookcase door at the top of the secret stairs, you descend and find yourself in a whole new world. Underneath the living room is a complete 450-square-foot apartment. It includes an cozy full-service kitchen (shown here), a Japanese style shower-bathroom combination, a large dining area, and a living room that converts into a private sleeping area. All of these spaces can be used in multiple ways, contributing to the elegant and efficient use of a small floor plan.
