BCC100 Time-Lapse Construction Camera
A dust-proof, weather-resistant camera for easy time-lapse construction site photography
Video monitoring of construction sites is a fun way for clients to keep track of progress, and it provides a visual record in case something goes awry. Video monitoring used to be a complicated and expensive undertaking, but the Brinno BCC100 time-lapse construction camera makes it easy. The 2-1/2-in.-thick, 1-3/4-in.-wide, 4-1/4-in.-tall camera can take still images at regular intervals (determined by the user) as well as video. It has a dust-proof, weather-resistant case that can be attached to a wall with the included mount, or it can be strapped to a pole, framing member, or tree. Video and movie files are saved to easy-to-find SD cards up to 32 GB in size. Movies can be stored as either 1280×720 or 640×480 AVI files. Stills are stored as JPEGs in one of two sizes (1280×720 or 640×480). Power comes from either four AA batteries, a USB connection, or an AC adapter (sold separately). The manufacturer claims up to 230 days of run time with Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries, or 78 days with regular batteries. A kit including the camera, case, and wall mount sells for $200.
