How to Frame a Door Opening
Follow this step-by-step procedure for an interior door opening.
In addition to being plumb both parallel and perpendicular to the wall, door openings have to be sized for the unit and provide good nailing for drywall and trim. This video gives a quick look at framing an opening in an interior non-bearing wall.

I'm trying to account for rough opening 2.5" taller than the door opening. 3/4" sub floor plus 3/4" finished floor, plus 3/4" door frame, plus 1/4" for shims?
So subfloor is already down right? Just additional clearance allowance. Remember the door needs space above the finished floor to swing without dragging too.
new doors come with 1.25" added to bottom of frame this to accommodate 3/4" flooring (carpet, wood, tile, etc.) that plus should always have air flow under door no less than 5/8" i prefer 3/4" plus the door 6'-8" plus jamb that makes 82 1/4" the doors i have been getting from lumber yard i have to make my door r/o 83 inch.the only thing i see wrong they only use single 2x for header we use 2 to ensure a proper place for casing we use a lot of 3.5 wide and will not fall on single
good video, would prefer not so much music in background.
Nice movie. However you can make it yourself. Just google Wood Prix and learn how to do it easily.
