The owner of this kitchen is a wine lover who collected lots of corks over time with intentions of putting them on display. Corks from red wine, white wine, and even champagne were used to create a fitting backsplash above a wine fridge and counter. The corks were laid up in stages using a clear silicone caulk as adhesive. Alternating between stained and unstained corks and varying the size of the corks used helped to give the space an engaging texture.
The cork backsplash lends a playful ambience to the kitchen and conjures memories of time spent with family and friends.
