This millstone was found on the property and inspired the idea for repeated circles and curves throughout the landscape. The millstone was fashioned into a table that sits outside the outdoor kitchen area and quickly became a favorite informal dining spot for the homeowners. A tiny herb garden in the center of the table scents the air and flavors the food. The challenge I had here with photographing this table was not to “lose” the herbs in the middle of the table to the green trees and mountains in the background. I used a more shallow depth of field and lined my shot up with the white birches in the background so the herbs would stand out in a photograph.
