The antique logs (150 years +-) are authentic, handhewn, and originally used in a remote pioneer cabin deep in the North Carolina mountains. This cabin was disassembled and the logs were moved to our construction site.
During construction the logs were manually raised using a pulley system similar to the old method, then the logs were fitted into the existing notches by hand.
The river stone covering the foundation are from an historic chimney left standing on the site of another early settlers cabin. The fireplace surround, the bed frame, and several small tables were made from extra logs.
The cabin sits on 14 secluded acres overlooking a spring fed pond and is a retreat for our family.
