we began an extensive remodel project on a small 1950’s beach cottage in South Ponte Vedra Beach in 2008. thinking we would just “freshen it up” we ended up expanding the foot print and taking it down to the studs. Plus adding a detached 2 story garage apartment. Had to work closely with the DEP and FEMA since the project was ocean front. The process took much longer than expected but the end result is worthy of a magazine cover photo shoot! since this is a 2nd home / retirement home, we spared no expense in materials and quality. we wanted sound proof walls, for example, as well as an insulated air tight structure…and accomplished this through use of Poly Isonene open and closed cell foam in walls and ceiling and Simonton Storm Breaker Plus windows and Doors. All high end appliances /tounge and groove walls and ceilings / recliamed heart pine floors, etc
all new landscaping and LED uplighting completment the curb appeal at night.
