The aluminum litho plates used in photo-offset printing can’t be reused by the printer and are usually offered to the public for a nominal sum. My local daily sells 2-ft, by 3-ft, plates for 35¢ — substantially less than the 32¢-per-sq.-ft. rolls of flashing sold at the hardware store.
