Here’s an inexpensive way to make the thin, flimsy walls of a fiberglass shower more rigid. Apply expanding urethane foam at several spots up and down the wall studs behind the shower walls, as shown in the drawing. The foam will do its expanding sideways. When it cures, the shower walls will have a lot less give.
