When the weather turns icy up here in New Hampshire, construction adhesives and caulks get so cold they won’t budge out of their tubes. To prevent this, I installed a metal can (about one gallon in size) under the hood of my truck. I placed it near, but not quite touching, the engine. The lidless can has enough room in it for five tubes of caulk or adhesive. On my drive to work in the morning, the tubes warm up enough to allow their contents to flow easily. Depending on how cold it is, the heat from the mass of the engine block keeps them warm for several hours.
