Though they are available for gallon cans, I have never been able to find a pouring spout or a flexible plastic lip for quart paint cans.
Therefore, when I pour paint from a quart can I always have a terrible time cleaning the groove at the top of the can that mates with the
lid. To eliminate this problem, I twist a paper towel into a rope that will fit tightly into the groove. Then I pour my paint over the twisted towel, which acts as a makeshift lip. Towel removed, a quick wipe with another piece of paper towel and the groove is clean and ready for its lid to be tapped back in place.
