I build in the Pacific Northwest, which is the same as saying I build in the rain. The wet weather makes for slippery footing, so to get a better grip on the ground I tack leftover asphalt shingles to the planks, ramps and scaffolds that surround our job sites. In my experience, the shingles are unaffected by rain and provide better traction than wooden cleats.

You don't leave leftover asphalt shingles with the client for future repairs? That's what my contractor did.
