Sooner or later a basement wall ends up with a row of shelves on it, or buried behind layers of insulation and drywall. The nailing strips shown in the drawing will work to anchor these things, and can be easily included in the basement walls as they are poured. I make a pair of nailers out of a single 2×6, ripped with beveled edges as shown in the detail. During the pour, I make sure to vibrate the concrete alongside the nailers to eliminate voids around their vertical edges.
Also, I don’t bother with pressure-treated lumber for these nailers. If they stay dry, the nailers will last indefinitely. And a properly constructed basement wall is a dry wall.
