Here’s an addition that I think improves upon Mike Nathan’s tip for lifting trusses (Quick release truss-anchor). I realize that Mr. Nathan and his crew protect themselves with hardhats, but a safety line from the crane’s hook to the crowbar pin (as shown in the drawing) will keep the crowbar from falling after the truss has been set and the crowbar has been pulled. This will protect bystanders without proper headgear and will prevent possible damage to roughed-in gas or water lines.
