It’s always been frustrating for me when a power tool pulls loose from my extension cord. I’ve used twist-lock connectors, but they’re bulky and hang up on things even more than a standard socket does. I’ve solved this problem by putting right-angle plugs on the cords to my tools, as shown in the drawing. Because they’re not on the same axis as the socket, right-angle plugs are a lot harder to pull out. These plugs are available at hardware stores with or without a ground connector. In my area the plugs cost between $1 and $7.
