Occasionally we all encounter a door or drawer that closes a little too loudly. While you can purchase small, self-adhesive felt dots to solve the problem, the dots only come in fixed thicknesses, and the adhesive isn’t very durable. I found a better solution — the cork from a wine bottle.
To make a bumper, I use a coping saw or a sharp knife to cut a disk off the end of a cork. Then I cut the disk in half and use a dab of carpenter’s glue to affix it to the door stop or face frame. By varying the thickness of the cork sections, I can even quiet warped doors.
