Keeping track of all the fasteners and bits of miscellaneous hardware necessary on a job site is a challenge. And I’m always looking to make use of items that might otherwise go to waste. My brother told me about a container that solves both problems: tennis-ball cans.
Modern tennis-ball containers are tough, clear, lightweight, waterproof, they have large, easy-to-use tops, and the containers are free. I also use them in my workshop for storage of anything that will fit in them, and my wife uses them (after the containers are thoroughly washed) as canisters for storing dried herbs and other foodstuffs. If you don’t play tennis, do what I do. My tennis-playing friends collect the cans for me.
