One of the most useful tools invented in the last couple of decades is the triangle square. On the other hand, it is also one of the most awkward tools to carry on a standard tool belt. Losing your triangle square when you need it is frustrating, and, at heights, it can be dangerous. After spending years of jury-rigging various triangle-square holders, I have finally devised a simple and lightweight triangle-square holder that works well.
As shown in the drawing, the holder is composed of a 16-in. length of sturdy belt leather. I used a couple of small panhead bolts and T-nuts to affix the ends of the loop to my leather hammer holder.
Then, I put a third bolt farther back through the side pouch to keep the loop from rotating downward at the back. My triangle-square holder is both simple and effective.
