Milk-jug paint pot
A milk jug is transformed into a multi-use paint tool.
During our episodic remodeling projects, it occasionally comes time for me to get out the paint or varnish. For these jobs I use a special, user-friendly paint pot made from a 1-gal. plastic milk jug. As shown in the drawing, I cut a window in the front of the jug.
I think this paint pot has several advantages. The handle is rigidly attached, making it less likely to cause a spill. The edge lets me wipe off the brush with no paint-can grooves to fill up and overflow, and the hole at the top provides a convenient place to put the brush when I need a free hand. But best of all, the vertical handle keeps my wrist at a comfortable angle. Ergonomics at no cost whatsoever.
