To hold the other end of a long fascia board, try a steel strap. As shown in the drawing, I bent an 18-ga. strap to conform to the profile of my fascia and the slope of the roof. Tacked on with a couple of duplex nails, the strap holds the unwieldy end of the fascia while I work toward it with my hammer.
