I use a lot of pneumatic nailers for both finish and framing work, and I noticed that after a while, their handles were beginning to hurt the palm of my hand. To remedy the problem, I wrapped the nailer handles with some tennis-racquet handle tape that I bought at a local sporting-goods shop.
Tennis-racquet tapes are approximately 1 in. wide by 36 in. long. They are quite good at absorbing vibration, so the palm of my hand doesn’t hurt anymore. And because the tennis-racquet tapes also absorb perspiration, my customized nailers are easier to hang onto now.

Thanks for another great tip.
Whenever possible have a photo or illustration that clearly defines the hint graphically. I am a Visual Learner.
Others are Auditory and want to hear the hint and of course don't forget Tactile which the internet does not support as of yet....Thanks for this hint and "A Better Way"
good tip,,thanks
Here's my tip: I'm often skinning my knuckles, so I keep Band-aids in my glove box. You're welcome.
OK, I've done this with hammers and many other handles for years. Is this supposed to be clever?
Using tennis racquet tape might not be rocket science but not being a tennis player, it would never have occurred to me that such a product was available. Sounds like just the thing I need for my ski poles.
For some time, I've been wanting to tape about 8 inches of my ski pole shafts immediately below the grips. (It's more comfortable to hold the uphill pole short when climbing on steep traverses and the aluminum shafts are pretty slick.)
Thanks for the tip!
Seriously! Your hands hurt from pneumatic nailers? Did Mommy keep you under her skirt until you were 21, or did you live in her basement until you were 35...? Do you even know how to hammer a nail, or what a real hammer is, or do they give you blisters?
If you showed up on one of my jobs with a nailer looking like the ones you've described... you wouldn't be able to get out of there fast enough.
I hope you have a happier day tomorrow, and I'm sad to know of your troubles!
