It seems as if every time I work on an exterior electrical box, the screw holding the strap to the box breaks off, leaving the end of the screw in the hole and me with no way to attach the strap. And away I go, muttering, to get my drill and tap.
Yesterday, I thought about the problem I was having, and I got smart. I used my cordless drill to run a self-tapping 7/16 pan-head screw (the kind used for fastening metal studs to each other) into the blocked hole. My solution worked like a charm.
