The next time you have a stack of shelves or cabinet doors to paint, don’t lean them against the wall. Instead, try hanging them from a rope that has been stretched clothesline style. As shown in the drawing, the line is knotted every 6 in. to 8 in. These knots create hitching posts for the cup hooks that I screw into the edge of each shelf.
