I’m frequently called on to add extension jambs to arched windows. The supplier usually provides extra-long jambs, which can then be site-cut to the necessary length. But obtaining the exact measurement of this curved piece used to be difficult until I stumbled on the idea of using masking tape. Now I simply stick a run of masking tape to the curve, cut it to length and then place it on the piece to be cut. This trick works equally well for determining the length of baseboards along a curved wall.
