Video Vault: Stop Ceiling Fan Blade Wobble
Using the balancing clip is a tedious job, but necessary when all else fails.
Good fan blades rarely need balancing because they are pre-balanced at the factory and packaged as a set. That’s why you should never mix blades between fans. If a ceiling fan does wobble, there are ways to troubleshoot the problem. In this gem from the Fine Homebuilding Video Vault, Fernando Pagés Ruiz shows you three of them. The last of these is using the balancing set that comes along with the fan.

I have always been told that it is safer to place the balancing test weight on the back edge of the blade rather than the leading edge.
The other handyman tip when putting in lightbulbs: incandescent or LED is to rub the threaded portion of the bulb in your hair. This is enough lubricant so that in a few years when the bulbs need replacing they come out without a problem
Use LED bulbs, then they don't use so much energy and they last long.
