I do service work and troubleshooting for a plumbing and heating company on Cape Cod, and it seems I never have enough organized storage space. I have 10-in.-deep shelves along the walls of my van, but with all the tiny parts that I need to carry around, it’s helpful to have easily accessible space for the small stuff. As shown in the drawing, I’ve found that an old dishwasher utensil basket is an ideal solution. Currently, I’ve got four of these baskets riding on the 10-in. shelves, and another one affixed to the interior of the van’s side door. I keep all of the cartridges and repair kits for individual faucet types in each compartment. With so many faucets and valves out there, I have no doubt that the next time I replace a defunct dishwasher, I’ll nab the baskets before its carcass heads for the last cleanup.
