I like to keep extension cords in tidy coils when I’m not using them. To that end, I’ve found that the touch-fastener cable ties called Grip-Strips are convenient and effective. The strips stay attached to the cords, so they’re always there when I need them for holding the coils together.
The strips also can be used to secure the extension cord to the tool cord, as shown in the drawings. This works much better than trying to tie the two cords together in a knot.
