Tom Meehan replies: Yes, the procedure is the same. Some installers skip the membrane over an on-grade slab, thinking, “Where is it going to leak?”
Maybe it’ll be OK, but in my opinion, a pan is cheap insurance and certainly the way to go. I’m no mold expert, but it seems to me that it’s a good idea to keep unwanted water out of your house whenever possible.
