The big plastic bags that are being used nowadays by grocery and discount stores fit nicely over a 9-in. paint tray, making a durable liner that keeps cleanup time to a minimum. You do, however, need to be sure to turn a printed bag inside out because the ink can contaminate your paint. In my experience, the bag-liners work well with latex and oil-based paints.
