Video Vault: Rafter and Stair Jigs
John Carroll demonstrates a couple of cool jigs for laying out rafters and stairs.
In this gem from the Fine Hombuilding Video Vault, North Carolina author and building contractor John Carroll shares a few good reasons for making these jigs. First, it’s easier to visualize the cuts with a jig than with any manufactured tool. Second, a jig is very effective for making fast, repetitive layouts, and third, the plumb edge is used as a cutting guide for a circular saw. The time invested in building the jigs pays off with time saved by the end of the job.
