Video Vault: A Custom Floor Medallion Centerpiece
This method turns an ordinary wood floor into a visual stunner.
Fine Homebuilding author Charles Peterson suggests that before you throw away any wooden flooring scraps, you should think about turning them into a custom floor medallion. Using techniques similar to those in his article, A Beautiful Floor from Wood Scraps, in this gem from the Fine Homebuilding Video Vault, Peterson demonstrates how normally discarded wood can be turned into an extraordinary focal point.
Additional information, including step-by-step photos and the medallion pattern available for download, can be found on the author’s Web site, http://woodflooringedu.org/archives/makingmedallions.html.

Thumbs up! Love the passion. Maybe I'll attempt this one day.
This an accident waiting to happen. Every cut made with the stop block means the cutoff is trapped between the block and the blade. Very dangerous to pull the sled back while the blade is spinning with the pieces still next to the blade. Also very dangerous to lift the piece off the running blade halfway through the cut to remove the tongue.
