A study commissioned by ladder manufacturer Werner Co. found that many people are more apprehensive about climbing a 25-ft. ladder than they are about working with live electricity or speaking in public. Cutting with a sharp knife, using a chainsaw, asking for a raise, and talking to your kids about sex also were considered less frightening than climbing a ladder.
