If you have ever spent more than a minute or two trying to untangle extension cords, you’ll want to watch this video tip demonstrated by Fine Homebuilding editor Justin Fink and submitted by reader Bryan Humphrey of Denver, Colo. You’ll learn how to store the cords neatly and transport them easily.
Bryan writes:
The most convenient way that I’ve found to deal with unruly extension cords, especially if you move your work stations around, is to carry them in an old joint-compound bucket. As shown in the drawing, I cut a hole near the bottom of the bucket to accommodate the prong end of the cord. In addition to holding a long cord, there’s plenty of room in there to carry a couple of power tools as well.
