Separating Studs with Pry Bars
You may think using the claw of your hammer to separate two studs is the best method, but this tip proves that it's not
Don’t use the claw of your hammer to separate two studs that are nailed together. Instead, use this method submitted by Fine Homebuilding reader Gerald McSwenney from Toronto, Ont. and demonstrated by editor Justin Fink. By setting two opposing pry bars in the piece, you’ll be able to drive the studs apart in no time, without breaking a sweat—or your back.
