Extrastrength Magnetic Screw Holder
Rare-earth magnets increase the holding power of a standard magnetic screw bit.
On a recent job, my crew and I framed partitions in a basement with 3-1/8-in. Torx screws (15 lb. of them). To help speed things up, we taped rare-earth magnets to the sides of our bit-holder sleeves. The powerful magnetic attraction provided by these little rod-shaped magnets made it easy to keep the screw and driver together, allowing one hand to hold the stud in place while the other ran the screw gun.
