The folks at Irwin won’t tell me how the light-violet chalk manages to form clean, crisp lines yet still wipe away so easily, but they did hint that “less pigment equals less permanence.” The line disappeared with the single swipe of a rag and marks stud locations over painted surfaces for installing cabinetry, wainscot, or crown molding.
