Clamp N Cut Drywall Scoring Device Review
When attached to a 2-in. drywall T-square, this scoring device becomes a drywall-ripping machine
My drywall cuts look a lot more precise since I found the Clamp N Cut. It’s a drywall-scoring device that holds a utility-knife blade and clamps to a T-square. The body of the Clamp N Cut is designed to slide along the blade of any 2-in. drywall T-square.
After determining the width of the piece to be ripped, twist the handle, which locks the tool to the T-square, and you’ve got a drywall-ripping machine. It’s easy to slide the top of the T-square along the edge of a piece of drywall with one hand and pull or push the large handle on the Clamp N Cut with the other.
In fact, it’s the handle of the tool that makes it so effective. The hand guiding the tool also applies cutting pressure. It’s amazing how cleanly the drywall breaks when the paper is cut perfectly straight.
Although you can make all your cuts with one Clamp N Cut, it’s a little faster to rip narrow pieces with a second Clamp N Cut mounted on a shortened (30-in.) T-square that’s easier to handle and store. I’m still not as fast as a pro, but I’ve tripled my rate and now make perfect drywall cuts.
