The U.S. Tape Company's ProTape Carpenter's Tape has a smooth-operating lock

Of the tape measures we tested with a slide lock, this one had the smoothest-operating lock with the shortest travel. It has big, bold numbers that are easy to see and a shock absorber to soften the blow of the hook slamming home.
