This tape measure has a 1-1/4-in.-wide blade that can extend up to 11 ft. without support, making it possible to measure a 15-ft. wall with no problem. The extra width means more steel and a little more weight to lug around, but the extra standout is worth the effort. The wider tape is also less likely to catch the wind when it’s extended during outdoor use. The hook on the end of the tape has additional ears on top so that it can grab from both sides.
