AN901 Framing Nailer Review
This framing nailer from Makita is lightweight, but it is powerful and has decent balance
This is the lightest coil nailer we tested, but it is powerful and has decent balance. The top and side of its basket swing open as a unit, making the basket easy to load and adjust. Depth is easily adjusted with a thumbscrew. A simple, self-cleaning internal air filter beneath the end cap of the handle keeps dirt out of the tool. Every time the air fitting is uncoupled, dirt in the filter is blasted out by the charge of air in the nailer. This nailer doesn’t quite fit squarely between 16-in. o. c. studs/joists.
