DW977K Cordless Impact Driver Review
The adjustable-torque dial on this cordless impact driver from DeWalt can help users from breaking fasteners
Along with its 9.6v cousin, this is the only cordless impact driver among the nine we tested that has an adjustable-torque dial. This feature can help less-experienced users from breaking fasteners, but we found the trigger-feathering technique to be a better way of managing torque. Because the DeWalt drivers require you to move your whole finger to work the reverse switch, they are the most difficult reverse switches to operate.
This driver stands unsteadily on its battery. It has a thick handle and feels no different than a standard driver/drill.
