347 Circular Saw Review
This well-built circular saw from Porter-Cable has no fancy features, but it does have a strong and flat baseplate
This well-built circular saw has no fancy features, but it does have a strong and flat baseplate made of cast magnesium. Porter-Cable puts an odd shape to the leading edge of its blade guard that lets it retract on most compound angles without having to retract the blade guard manually with its lever. The blade wrench stores in a convenient slot in the handle, but over time it tends to fall out. Another recurrent problem is that the bevel adjustment knob (not a lever) has a tendency to strip out after heavy use. Although it must be purchased separately, the rip fence is very good. This saw comes with both a dust collection attachment and a case, but the case is so tight as to be frustrating.
