3807 Sliding Compound-Miter Saw Review
This sliding compound-miter saw from Porter-Cable is a good performer for the money
The horizontal D-shaped handles on this saw are easy on the wrist, in either left- or right-handed operation. I like the absence of safety buttons, and the triggers have a padlock hole for locking out the saws. The miter-detent releases can be easily disengaged with either the left or the right hand. The saw comes with cam clamps for repetitive lock-downs. It bevels only to the left. The slide-tube lock is just behind the fence on the right side.
On the downside, there’s no rubber dust chute, so most of the sawdust ends up flying around. And the depth-of-cut adjustment is a threaded bolt with a locking wing nut. It’s fine if you don’t mind resetting between shallow and full-depth cuts, but switching back and forth is time consuming. In the end, this saw is a good, solid performer for the money.
