Video Vault: Inspecting Old Houses
Follow the inspection of a 200-year-old house, from attic to basement.
In this four-part video series, author, carpenter, and old-house restoration specialist George Nash inspects a two-century-old Federal crying out for a renovator’s touch. He begins with an exterior survey, which reveals bowed walls and sill-plate damage, then points out often-overlooked problems in the attic and basement. Nash finishes up with an assessment of the living space and a plan to modernize it.
