Video Vault: Plywood Sheet-Metal Brake
Give your brake a break with this improvised custom-flashing device
This tip from the Video Vault, courtesy of David Kalin of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and demonstrated by Chuck Miller, is a simple method for bending steel, copper, or aluminum flashing on site. As Chuck points out, the flashing can run as long as you’ve got friends to hold it, but David’s improvised brake works if you’re working on your own as well.

If Fine Homebuilding wasn't trying to cram so much advertising into their this page maybe this video would load. Sorry, Charlie, they won;t support you.
I don't have a brake, and I needed two six-foot pieces of flashing bent at 105 degrees made from 10" coil. It's hardly worth renting a brake for two little pieces like that. I built the jig with the correct angle, and it worked perfectly. Great tip.
Great Tip!
I'm having a little trouble getting it to initially feed. Any tips on creating a feed for getting it to enter easily?
cool!
awesome. thanks
