Product update: Cordless nailer gets a makeover
The Paslode CF-325 is a newly-released cordless framing nailer that features a redesigned nosepiece
Building on the success of its popular model #900420 cordless framing nailer, Paslode has released the CF-325. Functionally, the biggest change I noticed is in the nosepiece, which I criticized in my review of hose-free framing nailers (FHB #185). The redesigned nose is sturdier and digs in more aggressively for toenailing. Also, it takes less pressure to depress the nosepiece and activate the gun, reducing the fatigue factor common to cordless nailers.
Paslode’s fuel cells have been updated, too, and now can be dropped into the redesigned loading chamber without twisting off caps or aligning nozzles. Although the small savings in time isn’t important to me, I like not having to discard all those extra plastic tops. But I’ve found that the new fuel-cell door pops open on occasion. Each box of nails now comes with its own fuel cell, which is guaranteed to shoot every nail in the box. The new nailer sells for about $400; www.paslode-cordless.com.
