Three Cuts, Three Miter Saws, One Hardworking Stand
Learn how ganging up three miter saws on one stand can speed up the process without sacrificing accuracy when installing bevel-edged siding
The monster miter-saw stand setup in this video happens to be for a job installing beveled siding, but you can apply the lesson to any job where you need to make multiple bevel cuts for mitered corners or compound angles. Builder Eric Knott’s approach is simple: Rather than set up one saw requiring constant readjustment, for this job, he sets up three saws for the production-style cuts—one right, one square, and one left. His setup produces accurate cuts, even for fussy miters, and he guesstimates he’s sped up the process by at least one-third. Not bad.
