Delta now offers a faucet that’s as convenient and hygienic as it is elegant. The Touch2O technology on the Pilar kitchen faucet allows you to touch anywhere on the spout or handle to turn the water on and off. If you’re holding a stack of dirty dishes or if you’ve been preparing raw chicken, you can touch the faucet with your forearm or wrist instead, which has obvious antibacterial benefits. The faucet is smart enough to know the difference between a touch and a grasp, so you can move the position of the faucet without shutting it off. Water flow ceases automatically after four minutes.
The Pilar sells for about $360, is available in chrome or stainless steel, and includes a five-year warranty on the faucet, the finish, and the electronics. Batteries need to be replaced about once a year under normal use.
