Every once in a while a new tool or accessory comes along that’s such an obvious idea that makes you wonder how you didn’t come up with it yourself. I call it a forehead slapper.
Well, today I’ve got a Blue Ribbon forehead slapper for you. The Bosch P2+R2 combo driver bit.
The problem that the P2+R2 bit solves is really pretty simple. Two of the most common types of screws that you’re going to run into are Phillips head and a square head, also called a Robertson screw. The P2+R2 bit combines those two shaped tips into a single bit so you can engage either type of screw without changing bits in your driver.
During my tests, it fit nice an tight in the Philips head screw without any wiggle, even gripping the screw head when you point the screw tip to the floor. But when I tried to use it for a square drive, it was a little bit loose in the head compared to my dedicated bit for square-head screws. That means you always need to be holding the screw until it’s engaged in your workpiece, an inconvenience in some cases.
Either way, it’s a solid little invention and I’ll definitely keep it in my coffee can full of bits.

so it's an older vid, but justin i'm disappointed. robertson is NOT the same as square drive. they're similar, but square doesn't mate tightly with robertson.
if you used a square drive screw with a robertson bit, or a robertson screw with a square bit, it souldn't fit as nicely as a robertson in a robertson.
as they've spec'd it as a robertson bit, i'd be curious as to if it fits properly with a robertson screw.
