If you handle any building materials during the winter, you’re going to get painful splits on your fingertips. Glue them closed with cyanoacrylate glue, aka Super Glue or Krazy Glue. It sets up in seconds and lasts for days, and as soon as those splits are glued closed, they stop hurting. It’s also safe, because these glues are the same types used in surgery.

GREAT "Tip"! I've used Cyanoacrylate on Small cuts before in MY Home Shop. I Never Thought of using it Outside in the Winter "Or" on Fingertips. These glues Aren't Affected by (Normal?) Temps so I'll try it in My Unheated Garage Workshop.
Have you tried keeping your hands moisturized?
I second this tip. I've been using this method for years. It really does work. I try to hold the split closed, then apply the glue and give it a minute for the glue to dry (just don't glue your fingers to each other). Fresh glue works best, and the gel doesn't work well at all.. it takes too long to dry.
FWIW, the reason this works so well is that super glue was actually developed for this very purpose.. as a combat field dressing. So go ahead- glue the pain away...
How about mentioning that you should thoroughly clean your hands first. No sense in locking in what's there.
bad idea,,,thats putting poison on open cuts
